The witch's house WIP 1 - Pencil

Since I am folling in love with the work in progress posts on the blogs of my mignature-paniter friends, I decided to do the same with an illustration I am working on.

This time it's up to the house of the witch from Hansel and Gretel's fairy tale.
She used to live in the wood in a house made of cakes, sweets, and so on; in this way she lured kids who she used to feed on.

So, here there is my cake-house in the wood; first step: pencil.

Red puddle

After a long time of drawing in light colours I decided to try to make an illustration with the less colours I can and the darker colours the better.
That's the result.
I don't know if she is a vampire, a witch or simply someone bathing in ketchup, you are free to choose your version.

The Haunted House

Everyone has good friends, and usually they are interesting people with interesting hobbies. One friend of mine: Carmelo is a very good writer, an amazing role player and a boardgames creator.
And it have been an honour to me to make an illustration for his last boardgame: The Haunted House that will take part in a competition.

Who puts the starsin the sky at night? Here there is my hypothesis: a mighty queen of the nigh is ready to do her job.

A bit late today, but it was hard and I had had a little time lately.

Just to let you know, this gal has more or less the same face expression I usually have when I wake up in the morning.

No time at all to made new illustrations yesterday, so here there is an old one.

This time just pencil and digital colour.

It's a kind of magic

That illustration jumped out from the top-hat while I was making some illustrations to refill the portfolio I will bring on Thursday to Bologna Children's Book Fair.
