Higher Ground

The day after, I'm definitely still in Eurovision Songs Contest hangover. I loved particularly Denmark's song, performed by Rasmussen (but hey: Austria, Italy, Hungary and Moldova you're in my heart too), and I couldn't help drawing a quick viking themed sketch.

Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!

I'm trying to add some new arts at my portfolio for kids and, in the meanwhile, to improve my collage style, so here there is a sort of re-draw (more properly a reinterpretation) of a very old illustration I made back in 2011 (you can see it here).

As you can guess from the title of the post, the idea is a tribute to a Beatles' song.

Magician in colour

It's been a while since I coloured. While working on a project that will be published more or less around next Christmas I took some moments for me and coloured one of the sketch I made for the latest Inktober.
When I created it I was thinking about a specific character by the genious of Terry Pratchett (we miss you, master!). Can anyone guess to whom?

Photographer for a day

Some times ago I had the opportunity of play a bit with a camera with Dark Embrace musicians as models during the shooting of their upcoming video.

Mind, I'm not a professional photographer, but I did enjoy a lot to pretend to be that for a day. I did the pics and the post-production but of course the logo you see on them is not designed by me.

From my moleskine, drawed almost two years ago, but I preferred not to share at that time, here there is a portrait of Lemmy Kilmister, in crayons and pantone.

Merry Christmas with Saru

In one of the Facebook group I'm a part of, they organized the Secret Stanta. The idea was to re-draw an orignal character created by another member and to give it to him/her as a Christmas gift.

The fate gave me the chance of drawing Saru, the robotic macaco born from the pencil of Andrea Milana:

Phlox

From the time vortex of the last year, here there is a tribute to the sci-fi graphic novel Phlox, published morse or less one year ago in Italy by Shockdom. It's a pretty good space and love adventure illustrated by Vanessa Cardinali and written by Antonio Silvestri. If you can read in italian it's highly recomended, and you can buy it here.

Last week I was invited to participate with an illustration of mine at the page Racconti Crestati that is a blog where the writer Riccardo Boccardi shares his very short stories (no more than 500 characters long).

A tribute to Vanessa Cardinali's Thunder Ben

Some days ago, in Italy, Bao Publishing published "Thunder Ben", a graphic novel all written and illustrated by Vanessa Cardinali.

As you can see, she is a very good comic-artist, so, if you can read in Italian, you are strongly advised to buy and read it.

By the way, she is also a dear friend of mine and, at the moment, she is collecting some tributes done by friends and collegues. So this is my Thunder Ben tribute, you can see the others here
