Mermay is over, but still I don't have enough of mermaid, so I finally completed the sketch I publoshed some weeks ago.

Now I will be back in drawing people with legs.

Again... speaking of goldfish, a chibi version of a mermaid.

MerMay 11 Steampunk Periophthalmus argentilineatus

Periophthalmus argentilineatus is a little fish a.k.a mudskipper because of its habit of go out the water and spend some time in the mud. For this peculiar fish I imagined a steampunk mermaid and drawed it in crayons, pantone, and coffee spreaded by a make-up brush since in my new home I didn't brought my watercolour brushes at the moment.

Tribute to Galicia: Octopus Mermaid

The today marmaid is a tribute to the land that is my new home: Galicia, where eating octopus is pretty common.

MerMay part 1

Contrary to whatever is wise for a person with a handful of deadlines getting closer, I decided to take part to MerMay 2018.
Of course I'm a bit late, but I'm forcing myself to recoup the time lost, even if, at the moment, I just have 4 sketch out of 8 that should be today.
Since I was in need of a theme to get inspiration, I decided that to me this one is the 'strange fishes' mermaids month too.
At the end of the month I think I'll choose 12 of them to deisgn as proper illustrations.
But, for the moment, here there are my first 4 strange mermaids.

Waiting for Maruxaina

Maruxaina is a blond haired mermaid who, according to Galician legends, uses to live in the Xan Vello cave in the Farallóns islands, alluring mariners with her beauty and her voice. 

Since it's being a while I'm planning an illustration dedicated to her, it's time for me to become a bit more familiar with merimaids' anatomy. So here there is a preparatory doodle that probably will be cleaned and coloured while I make my mind on how exactly I want to picture this blond fish-lady
