Well, actually it's not a wood but a garden: the Japanese Garden in Tully, Ireland that is where, some years ago, I took the photo that inspired me for this illustration.
So the illustration is somehow Japanese and somehow Irish, I strongly hope that the Irish part is not prevalent and that it should look like a real Japanese landscape.
As usual: pencil, ink and digital colour.

EliminaForgive my ignorance in the digital painting process ... by pencil, ink, digitial colour ... do you mean you first draw it in pencil, redraw with ink, scan and then paint digitally?
RispondiEliminaYep I usually work this way: pencil and ink on paper, then scan, then I paint the immage (painting inside the ink's lines) and then I change the colours of the ink lines melting them with the colours ;)
